Independent Living Support

Preparing for adult life

Helping young people feel ready for independent living, one practical step at a time.

Moving towards independence is not only about having a place to live. It is about learning how to manage a home, keep routines, handle responsibilities, and feel confident in everyday life. Our support helps young people build those skills in a realistic, encouraging and structured way.

What this support looks like

Independent living is about learning how to manage everyday life with confidence and structure.

For many young people, the shift towards adult independence can feel overwhelming. It can involve new routines, budgeting, managing appointments, keeping a home safe and understanding responsibilities that may not have been part of everyday life before.

Our support is designed to make those transitions more manageable. We work with young people to build practical skills, improve confidence and prepare for the realities of independent living in a way that feels supportive, realistic and person-centred.

Support may include housing preparation, guidance on daily routines, financial awareness, community engagement and personalised planning. We work within the limits of assessment, safeguarding, eligibility and available provision, and we do not promise a particular outcome or accommodation type.
